CVE-107

Upgrade Pilot Training

PURPOSE

To insure the new pilot has a basic understanding of and the ability to control his assigned aircraft and an understanding of the basic flight philosophy of MCVG-2.

NOTICE TO AIRMEN (NOTAM)

We as members of MCVG-2 believe that skill is not a substitute for proper training and Team Work and that training is an on going process and will remain so in this squadron. As a member of this unit you will be required to attend and pass UPT and attend Advanced Training and make all efforts to foster a TEAM environment. At no time will a "Lone Wolf" be tolerated in this unit. We fly and fight as a team and expect no less from any member of this command and we will give no less as members of this command to our fellow team mates.
Two average pilots working as a team are a force to be reckoned with but one outstanding pilot flying alone is just looking for a place to die. It"s my job to keep you alive and it is your job to keep me alive.

INTORDUCTION

The following are the basic requirements for all new cadets of MCVG-2. All requirements must be completed in the presence of the Training Officer, a member of the Command Staff, or an assigned Flight Instructor and reported to the Training Officer prior to being assigned to an active squadron.
As a fighter group we are required to understand the basics of flight and the handling and operation of assigned aircraft to this command, both on the ground and in the air. The prespective candidate is required to demonstrate his or her ability to understand and operate their selected aircraft. Failing to successfully complete all required training will delay the candidate from being assigned to an active command squadron until such time as they may demonstrate proficiency with there aircraft as stated in this section.
At no time will a cadet bypass this training or be granted a free ride without approval of the Commanding Officer or the Senior Command Staff, as a whole, or the Training Officer.

EXCLUSION FORM UPT

We, as virtual pilots, do understand that some people may have extensive experience in the aircraft that this command flies however, before approval can be given to bypass UPT the prespective pilot must attend and complete a check ride or be well know as a competent pilot by one of the above mentioned members of this command.

UPT REQUIREMENTS

All below requirements will be done with 50% fuel on board.

1. Demonstrate an understanding of cockpit instruments and there locations.
2. Be able to start and shut down their aircraft.
3. Be able to operate internal and external lighting, canopy and seat adjust.
4. Show ability to taxi and control their aircraft on land and embarked in a closed cockpit environment.
